Small faux tortoise shell hinged snuff box from an estate sale. It is 2 1/2" X 1 3/8" X 11/16" with push button type latch. It is dated 1878 and I assume personalized but I can not make out what it says ( I think Edward something ? ). Hinge and latch in good working condition and the box is free of breaks/cracks, but does have a good deal of crazing (mostly on the top) and has not been cleaned. A charming victorian paper mache floral black snuff box in the shape of a shoe. The shoe measures 3 1/4" length,1" wide, 1 1/2" H. In very good condition with opening (hinge) opening and closing tight. The only thing to note as seen in the pictures is some paint loss on the sole and heel of the shoe and one tiny nick on the back of the lid.Wonderful Victorian snuff box to have survived in this condition for its age.Thank You!
