James Welsh Pepper produced musical instruments until 1910
Has a lot of dents and wear, as you can see from the photos. (Just a guess, but maybe it was used in WWI, or earlier, with Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders.)
In "G". My husband, who plays French horn, played a quick Reveille on it, so it does work, although the tuning slide does not move.
