This is a beautiful little box made out of a light wood, and even has wooden hinges. My guess is that it was a snuffbox could’ve been used for sewing needles or pins. Antique English c. 1780 Snuff Box. Material is tortoise shell with silver pique inlaid with gold banded frame. The carved scene is made from cuddle fish bone. The detail carving is hard to imagine how anything this intricate could be carved by hand. Asking $575.00
