This is a fine antique Swedish silver snuff box. The lid of the oval box is decorated with an applied gold coat of arms. The box measures 3 inches long by 2 1/8 inch by 1 3/8 inch high. The inside of the box has a gold wash. The inside rim of the box is clearly marked with the three crowns of Sweden and the “S” indicating silver. The box weighs 45.6 grams. The box shows normal wear with a few dings due to use and age. The hinge has broken and the top is detached, otherwise, in good condition. The bottom is engraved Anker / Karlstad / Julen 1918”.

This is a fun example of one of these rare pieces. This handsome hunchbacked fellow has his eyes and buttons and feet in tact. Only condition issue I notice is a small piece on the back hinge is missing. Still snaps close and does not affect the functionality. Please use photos for further description.
