Great looking antique snuff or perhaps made as trinket box. 4 x 2.5 inches, 3/4" inch tall. Dating to around the early 19th Century. Cover opens and closes fine, good condition as seen with age marks to cover. This Victorian doubled-sided oval snuff box with hinged lid features bezel set brown Scottish agate faces on the top and bottom. The ormolu (gold over brass) brass case has stylized decorative band of acanthus leaves motif all around. The stones are in excellent condition. The metal shows a little wear of the gilding. It is a good size and design for a pill box. It is well made with good opening function, and closes tight.
