18th-19th Century Handmade Pictorial Pressed Burr Birch Maple Snuff Box 224A
Early, primitive, pressed scene of a house, trees, and a figure with what appears to be wearing a tricorn hat (popular until circa 1800), possibly French. There also appears to be a cross (x) across the men's chest, so there is a small chance it could be English.
Wear, minor scratches from age/use, small amount of birch lining inside dried (please see photos) small spot of varnish off side and bottom of box (please see photos) otherwise very good, working condition. Very cool piece!
