For Your Consideration:
A Victorian Silver Italian Snuff Box from Governor Lucius Fairchild’s estate. Governor Fairchild was Wisconsin’s Governor from 1866-1872. Fairchild was Wisconsin’s 10
th
Governor. This Silver Snuff Box was part of his estate. It is probably mid-19
th
century and very well made. The exact material this is made from is a mystery to me. It appears to be Sterling (925) but it is not marked. It is stamped made in Italy on the bottom. I have not been able to locate one of these on the Intranet for reference. The scene on the box depicts a nude women and man spear fishing. This box is something only a person of wealth would have. Box is 2.12” x 1.62” x .5” high. High Quality Snuff Box. See Pics. Thanks for Looking.

Powder Horn, 4 1/8" long. Brass rotating top exposes small poring aperture. Loading bottom made from bone has a brass plate with light script reading "L McLea?"  Interior of the bottom has what appears to be a thick piece of cork. This has dried out making the plate loose when inserted. I believe once it is moistened it should expand and seal the bottom.
