Simply stick the light fixture where you want it and turn on the switch on the side of the base. That's it! Easily repositionable. There's a sticky circle on a magnetic plate that the light fixture attaches to. They both come with batteries installed and are ready to go. The batteries can be replaced when they die. The light bulbs are LEDs and won't die or produce heat so they never need to be replaced.
The tulip light is very versatile. Can be used with the shade facing up, down or sideways. It's meant for a wall installation.

3 Volt LED fixed bulb. The model of the battery is lithium cell CR927.
The Fluted shade light fixture is just over 1.25" long and designed to be installed on the ceiling.
