This vintage Continental brass oval shape snuff box is decorated with a 19th century erotic scene painted on its lid cover. This enamel painting exhibits vibrant colors on its costumed subjects. In the scene, and painted with detail, a young French gentleman's wandering hand has made its way under the skirt of a milk maid who is seen pouring milk onto his head & back. Though unsigned, the artist has rendered an enamel painting of high quality. The painting is in excellent condition. The brass box shows some age. The piece is very collectible.

This antique snuff box is unbelievably detailed from birch bark. I used to collect snuff boxes and this is one of my finest. The inscriptions are in Swedish. The top inscription translates as follows: "Tac En Pris!" which means "Take A Prize!". The bottom inscription translates as follows: "Tack Godtsnus." which means "Thanks A Good Snus". The 6 inch ruler is for scale and is not included.
